Without a vision and understanding of what God is doing in the realm of spirit, the days ahead will be very difficult for us. Fear can creep in and take control of your spirit, and you can find yourself withdrawing from what God is setting before you. Yeshua (Jesus) did not walk by sight. He did not judge by what His eyes saw nor decide by what His ears heard (Isaiah 11:3). He had another way of walking with the Father. And as we enter these days of relating to the Father, it will be necessary for us to walk as Yeshua walked, by vision and understanding from the realm of spirit.
In 2 Kings 6, we see the story of the Arameans plotting to capture Elisha.
Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:15–17)[1]
The Lord must open our eyes as He did with Elisha’s servant. We must see a vision of the truth that surrounds us and understand what the reality is in this day. We do not need to be fearful of all that might happen because we have the victory. We need to be full of faith. Elisha’s servant saw the enemy coming, and Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes that he may see.” Likewise, our prayer should be, “Father, open our eyes. Open the eyes of this generation.” We may live in the end-time but that is not our focus. Our focus is on the Father. We are coming into the throne room of the Father and that must be more real to us than anything else around us.
We were born for this day; it is our destiny. If satan’s forces seem to have power, remember that Christ has all authority. Authority outweighs power. Authority removes and creates power. Christ is seated at God’s right hand “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion” (Ephesians 1:20–21). As Yeshua said, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). God’s Kingdom cannot be destroyed. You must be assured of this: no matter what takes place, God’s Kingdom prevails. “The saints of the Highest One will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come” (Daniel 7:18).
Do not be fearful of anything you face. The important thing is to know that picture in heaven. You should be busy shaking hands with the myriads upon myriads of the heavenly host that attend the King (Revelation 5:11). This is the vision of heaven. And of this power and dominion we cry, “On earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Those who are for us are greater and mightier than anything that is against us. Let the heavenly host be real to your heart. God is in charge. May He open this vision to your spirit until you live in the truth of His Kingdom.
