God Is Speaking to Us – Episode 56

Sep 6, 2021

When we come into the biblical feasts, we have an open door in the realm of spirit. God is doing something. The Scriptures call these appointed times. As we enter the prophetic season of the Feast of Trumpets, God gets our attention with the blast of the shofar. “Blow a trumpet in Zion, sound an alarm on my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the day of the Lord is coming. Surely it is near” (Joel 2:1).

The trumpet of God is to get our attention. He wants to wake us up. He is getting ready to speak to His people. In the Book of Revelation, a trumpet blast announces that God is coming to speak. The prophecies that John brought to the seven churches are actually addressed to the church in our day and age. These words must be heeded because we are near the time when these things take place.

When God came on Mount Sinai, He set before Israel a blessing and a curse. And we know that Israel has suffered the consequences of its disobedience through the word of the Lord that was given. For years we have seen the corrective judgments that are from God upon Israel. But in these days when His Kingdom is near, we cannot afford to be similarly put into a correction and receive in ourselves these negative consequences and judgments.

In this season of the Day of Trumpets, let us hear what the Lord Himself is saying to the churches. We are in a time and place where we must hear His voice now. We must understand what He wants us to do and not to do.

Key Verses:

  • Joel 2:1. “Blow a trumpet in Zion … For the day of the Lord is coming.”
  • Deuteronomy 4:1013. “You heard the sound of words, but you saw no form.”
  • Revelation 1:13. “Who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things.”
  • Revelation 1:48. “All the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.”
  • Revelation 1:920. “A loud voice like the sound of a trumpet.”
  • Revelation 2:17. “But I have this against you.”
  • Revelation 2:811. “Do not fear what you are about to suffer.”
  • Revelation 2:1217. “But I have a few things against you.”
  • Revelation 2:1829. “I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.”
  • Revelation 3:16. “Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain.”
  • Revelation 3:713. “Hold fast what you have.”
  • Revelation 3:1422. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.”
  • Revelation 4:1. “The first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet.”

  • “In this time of trumpets, God is getting our attention. It’s not just blowing trumpets. I believe he wants to wake us up, He wants to get our attention and He wants to speak to us.”
  • “A lot of times we hear people read the prophecies in the book of Revelation and try to figure out which of the seven churches we belong to. Yes, He addresses the seven churches by name, but He is speaking to the church that exists today. All of these words apply to all of us.”
  • “Now as the church, we see the same challenge being given to us that was given to Israel—like Israel, we have set before us a blessing and a consequence of judgment if we are not obedient to God.”

Growing In God podcast (Episode 4): The Feast of Trumpets.

  1. The Messiah’s message to the churches in Revelation is like the 10 Commandments for the Body of Christ to follow now.
  2. If we are disobedient to His commands, we will reap what has been foretold of the judgments.
  3. If we obey these words, we will be called up into the heavenly throne room and be shown the things that must take place as God’s Kingdom is coming into this Earth. (Lord, bless us with ears to hear and hearts to obey!)
  4. The revelation of God’s Word always challenges us to pursue a deeper relationship with the Lord by helping us to see more clearly and understand more completely, so we may be more closely conformed to the image of Yeshua in all we think, say, and do.
