The Intimacy of Communion

Apr 18, 2022 | Blog

During the Passover meal, Yeshua (Jesus) initiated what we call the Communion. Imagine yourself sitting with Him and His disciples among the flickering oil lamps. Let the experience come alive for you as if you were reclining with them. Open your heart to receive Christ; let Him wash your feet and serve you (John 13:4-5). Yeshua is standing before you, saying, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life” (John 6:54).1 That is very intimate! He is entreating you, “Come and abide in Me because I long to abide in you.” Christ is the living Bread of Life sent by the Father for you. Every time you receive the bread and the wine, Yeshua is opening the door for you to have a more intimate relationship with Himself.

There is no way to partake of the blood of Yeshua without it being extremely personal—on His part and on your part. Christ wants to bring you under His wing, save you, protect you, and be the salvation that God is providing. On behalf of the Father, Yeshua is freely giving Himself to you and looking for a personal relationship with you (Romans 8:32). Open your heart to receive His deep, intimate love for you on a very personal level. I want you to grasp the intimacy of what Christ is doing for you. You have no life other than the life you receive when you partake of His body and His blood. There is no way to partake of the body of Yeshua broken for us without having a deep humility and a sense of intimacy that we are taking Him into ourselves, and He is giving Himself to us. “For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him” (John 6:55-56). Christ is literally giving Himself to you and saying, “I want to give you My body and My blood that you may partake of Me.”

There is nothing more intimate that Yeshua could do than to give you Himself. Prepare your heart for the deepest, most personal, intimate relationship that you have ever found. Who knows the wonderful way God will visit each one of us during this Passover season and pour out His Spirit on His people? This intimacy is what the Father is giving us through His Son. Let us partake, Father, of Your Son. Let us ingest Him, encompass Him into our lives that He might dwell in us, and we might dwell in Him. “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). We believe for this in the name of Yeshua. This is the oneness that God wants with us. In this process, we become one with Him, and He becomes one with us. That is why Yeshua makes Himself available to you in the Communion. Let the miracle of His body and His blood come alive for you during this Passover
