Our Meeting With Mike Huckabee -Episode 253

Jun 9, 2025

Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, is urging Americans to visit Israel at this time. Ambassador Huckabee is also a Christian and a true example of how to bless Israel and the Jewish people. As fellow Christians we should follow his example, go to Israel if we can, and be the expression of Christ’s love to the Israeli people.

Show Notes:

During our solidarity tour in Israel, we had the pleasure of meeting with Ambassador Mike Huckabee. In this meeting we had a deep connection of heart and spirit together as the ambassador conveyed a message to the American people. That message is, “Come to Israel.” It is significant that Huckabee is not Jewish like many United States ambassadors to Israel have been. He is an evangelical Christian and a true man of faith. As Christians we should take this to heart and understand our role in helping Israel.

At Hargrave Ministries we try to deal with the issue that the Church has long been a source of negative relations with the Jewish people. Christians have a history of persecuting Jews as well as trying to convert them to Christianity in a way that erases their Jewish heritage. Therefore, you find many who do not trust the motivation of Christians when they come to Israel. That is why we need to pray for Mike Huckabee and follow his lead. As a Christian with a heart of love and faith for Israel and the Jewish people, he is not only representing the United States but also representing all Christians as an ambassador to Israel.

If you are a Christian, one of the greatest things you can do right now is visit Israel. Israel needs to see the expression of love and faith coming from Christians. The Jewish people, whether they are in Israel or not, need to see that Christ is an expression of the love of the Father for them. Everywhere we have gone in Israel on this tour, the response from people has been, “Thank you for being here. You have no idea what your support means for us.” So go to Israel and be a blessing. But whether you go or not, keep praying for Israel and keep giving to help the Israeli people.

Key Verses:

  • 1 John 4:16. “God is love.”
  • John 3:16. “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son.”
  • Isaiah 55:3. “I will make an everlasting covenant with you, according to the faithful mercies shown to David.”

Quotes:

  • “I think it’s a real problem when Christians try to missionize the Jewish people because you’re doing more than just saying, “Be a Christian.” You’re trying to change the culture. You’re trying to change really who the Jewish people are.”
  • “We send donations and support every month to eight different organizations here in Israel. But I’ll tell you, when we walk in the door and we show up here, that really impacts them, and they appreciate it beyond what you can imagine.”
  • “You can pray for the people of Israel. You can pray for the nation of Israel, pray for the soldiers, pray for those that are in need in Israel. So many things that you can pray for if you’re not able to come. But if you are able, know that you have an invitation with an open heart from our current representative here and his staff—Mike Huckabee the new ambassador.”

Takeaways:

  1. Mike Huckabee, the current United States ambassador to Israel, is a born-again evangelical Christian. In fact, he is a former Baptist minister. So not only is he representing the United States as a nation, but he is also representing all of us who are believing Christians.
  2. Mike Huckabee’s love and faith for Israel should be the expression from all Christians. And one of the things he is doing as ambassador is encouraging Christians to come to Israel at this time.
  3. Because of the negative ways Christians have related to them, many in the Jewish community mistrust the motives of Christians who come to Israel. Therefore, there is a deep need for an expression to Israel and to the Jewish people of Christ’s love, which is the manifestation of the Father’s love for them. And being there in Israel is one of the greatest ways to do that.
