Look Up, See the Vision – Episode 54

Aug 24, 2021

As we see the things transpiring in the world around us, it is easy to think God is not in control. Perhaps man is in control. Perhaps the devil is in control. It seems at times that the victory of Christ is nowhere to be seen. So, we need to learn to shift our focus. We need to look up and see what God is doing. Every year the biblical Fall Festivals remind us that God has not lost control—He is still bringing His Kingdom into this earth.

As we move into this time of the Fall Feasts, our attention should be on what God says about the purpose of these feasts and where they point us. They are to show us what is really taking place in this world from a heavenly perspective.

On the Day of Trumpets, the Lord called Moses to the top of Mount Sinai. At the sounding of the shofar, God came down into the earth. So, as we come to the Day of Trumpets, our expectation is that once again God is coming down.

From here we go into the 10 Days of Awe, which give us the opportunity to repent and change our fate. This is our opportunity to change our future. We then arrive at Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. This is not about just the forgiveness of our sin—it is about our sanctification and transformation, the complete removal of Adam’s nature from our being. We are to look up and behold Him who has been changed, who lives in His resurrection life. Likewise, we too find ourselves being changed from glory to glory into that same image.

Finally, there is Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, when we behold the coming of the Kingdom of God and the Messiah dwelling among men. God wants us to look up, like John in the Book of Revelation, and see the vision of His coming—this great day when God tabernacles among men; these days are near.

Key Verses:

  • Matthew 24:16. “The sign of Your coming the end of the age.”
  • Luke 21:2529. “Your redemption is drawing near.”
  • Psalm 2:14. “He who sits in the heavens laughs.”
  • Exodus 19:1620. “The Lord came down on Mount Sinai.”
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16. “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven.”
  • Mark 13:3435. “Therefore, be on the alert.”
  • 1 Corinthians 15:51–55. This mortal must put on immortality.”

  • 2 Corinthians 3:18. “We all are being transformed.”
  • Revelation 21:35. “God Himself will be among them.”
  • Revelation 22:110. “Behold, I am coming quickly.”

  • “How should we respond to worldly events? We’re not supposed to panic over them. We’re not supposed to be immersed in them, engage in them, or wallow in the tribulation of them. Instead, we are to recognize that the Kingdom of God is near and look up to behold our redemption!”
  • “The story that is told through the biblical Fall Feasts is about the transition that the world is going through now. During these times we are to set our focus on what God wants us to see and set our hearts on what is happening from God’s perspective.”
  • “What should we anticipate as we go into the Fall Feasts and hear the sounding of the shofar on the Day of Trumpets? Our expectation is that once again God is coming down and bringing His Kingdom into this earth.”

  1. Notice that when Yeshua (Jesus) was asked by his disciples to detail the coming events in Matthew 24 and Luke 21, He described those events through the eyes of a natural man.

  1. Recognize that when we think about the natural level events which precede the Kingdom of God, our human reaction can be fear and unbelief.

  1. Realize that Yeshua gave His disciples and us the solution to fear and unbelief when He said to look up and focus on the vision of God’s kingdom, manifesting upon the earth, not upon the old age that is passing away.

  1. Remember that the biblical Fall Feasts were given to us to provide perfect focal points to clearly see what God is doing in these days.

  1. Make this your prayer: “Father, deliver us from the fear and unbelief that comes from a focus on what is happening around us on the natural level and grant us eyes to see and hearts to understand what you’re doing day after day to establish your Kingdom on this earth. Amen.”
